Many Hearts, One Purpose: Honoring Our Biggest Supporters

They are some of the most notable names in the equestrian world. Jane F. Clark, Samantha Charles, Karin Reid-Offield, and Joe Zada from the east coast; Patty Applegate, Klaus and Jami Heidegger, Mary Ann Weisberg-Perry, Bryce Perry, Katie Polk, Carol Rosenstein, Steven Spielberg and Kate Capshaw from the west coast. They have also been some of the most notable supporters of the Equestrian Aid Foundation and for that, we are so grateful.

Jane Clark
Jane Clark is a name synonymous with the equestrian world and the numerous organizations within it. She is well known in the horse world as the owner of many horses that have represented the United States in Olympic and World Championship competition, including three horses that Robert Dover competed with for team medal-winning performances at the 1996 Atlanta, 2000 Sydney and 2004 Athens Olympic Games, as well as a show jumping team since the 1996 Atlanta Olympics, and a four-in-hand team medal at the 2002 World Equestrian Games in Spain, among many others.

Ms. Clark was President of the American Horse Shows Association, forerunner of the United States Equestrian Federation, the national governing body of the sport, from 1991 to 1996. Ms. Clark is involved in many charitable and governmental organizations, ranging from the Equestrian Aid Foundation to numerous causes in New York. She is a guardian of America’s Pastime as Chairman and Director of the Baseball Hall of Fame. She has also served on the FEI governing board as Bureau Member and Chairman of Group IV and as an Executive Board member, and as a Director of the U.S. Olympic Committee. Clark was Senior Vice President and Trustee of the United States Equestrian Team when that organization held overall responsibility for fielding and funding of teams for international competitions.

Jane Clark has been an integral part of the growth of our Foundation. She has participated, sponsored and supported many of benefits. Her varied contributions to the Foundation have helped the EAF evolve into an outstanding organization helping equestrians in need. Her consideration and generosity are so very much appreciated.

Karin Reid Offield
Karin Reid Offield has been involved with horses her entire life. Her first love was jumpers and equitation and she traveled around the country competing at the highest level of shows. Karin’s Offield Farms sponsored the 2005 FEI World Cup Dressage Final, Presented by Offield Farms. Her continued involvement in the horse world is simply the next chapter in the story of one woman’s effort to make a difference in the advancement and promotion of the horse sports, specifically dressage.

In spite of her busy schedule, Karin has been one of EAF’s biggest supporters. She has helped sponsor several EAF events, namely the EAF/Lili Claire Foundation benefit in Las Vegas. She has devoted much of her time to helping with the Outback/Sidelines Triathlon and she is always looking for a way to help the Foundation grow.

Joe Zada
Joe Zada grew up loving horses. He is a well known sponsor of the Winter Equestrian Festival and the national horse show. He has sponsored horses for top professional riders David O’Connor, Robert Dover, and Robert Ross. At the 2000 Sydney Olympics, his horse, Custom Made - ridden by David O’Connor - won the Individual Gold Medal in eventing.

Joe has been a staunch supporter of the EAF, its mission and its growth from the very beginning. His corporation, Zada Enterprises, LLC has sponsored many of our events, including the Las Vegas 2005 Ben Harper concert. He also is involved with many charities, including the support of therapeutic and handicap riding centers in Michigan, as well as Colorado law enforcement industries and their sports teams.

Jami Morse Heidegger
Jami Morse Heidegger wanted to spend more time with her children, hence her arrival into publishing. Much of her new family time was spent on the show jumping circuit, as her daughter, Nicoletta, is a nationally ranked rider and five-time national champion. In 2004, the opportunity to work, while raising her children, presented itself: Heidegger bought Show Circuit magazine. She took the upscale equestrian magazine from a respected, stats-driven publication to a reputable magazine with celebrity features and news from around the show world.

Since the start of our Foundation, Jami and Klaus Heidegger have been ardent supporters of the EAF. They have helped make the Foundation a nationally recognized name in the horse world and have continued to build support on the west coast. The Foundation would not be where it is today without their sustenance.

Samantha Charles
Samantha Charles is not only an active member in the horse world, but she is a great supporter of the EAF and its mission. Samantha’s annual Outback/Sidelines Equestrian Triathlon has benefited the EAF for several years. All proceeds from the celebrity bartending night - held just before the Triathlon at the Players Club bar and restaurant and the Triathlon itself are donated to the Equestrian Aid Foundation. The 2006 Triathlon was a banner event, raising over $100,000 for the Foundation and its very deserving recipients.

Patty Applegate
Patty Applegate is not only an accomplished equestrian in her own right; she is involved with many philanthropic causes, but has made the EAF a priority. Patty hosted the Arwen Stables event in the spring of 2005. This event raised an awareness of the Equestrian Aid Foundation and its mission throughout Southern California’s horse community. Her spirit and support has truly helped the Foundation gain notoriety out west.

Mary Ann Weisberg Perry and Bryce Perry, Carol Rosenstein and Katie Polk have hosted the annual Amici Brentwood benefit for the Equestrian Aid Foundation for the last few years. You can be assured a packed house, great food, great fun and many laughs at this wonderful event. Their hard work and generosity has created a financially successful event for the Foundation and a dinner party we all look forward to every fall.

We certainly cannot forget Kate Capshaw and her husband Steven Spielberg. Their consideration, generosity, and contributions to our Foundation are so deeply appreciated. We cannot express our gratitude enough to you for all you have done to help us.

Regardless of their work commitments, personal commitments and tireless schedules, these wonderful people have always found time to support the EAF. Their dedication has helped the Foundation develop into an ever-growing nationally recognized non-profit equestrian organization. And for that, we are so grateful. Thank you!
