Dear Friends,
The Equestrian AIDS Foundation was created to anonymously embrace and assist those afflicted with HIV/AIDS in our community. As we approach the ten year anniversary of our Foundation, the Board of Directors of the Equestrian AIDS Foundation has decided to expand our bylaws and change our name to include helping anyone in the equestrian community suffering from any life threatening disease as well as victims of catastrophic accident and injuries.
In keeping with this new mission, we have changed our name to The Equestrian Aid Foundation
dropping the s, but creating a significant expansion in scope. A small change in the wording of the name of our charitable foundation, but a huge leap into the fulfillment of our new mission of enriching the lives of all those we can. The look of the future of our sport is that we know that a national organization is needed to make a difference in the lives of all people in need in our equestrian community. We can, we have and we will continue to make a difference.
Financial support is allocated to individuals on a case-by-case basis to pay for various essentials, which may include: medical needs, health insurance, food and housing, transportation, physical therapy and more. EAF overhead expenses are kept to a minimum through in-kind donations of office space, graphic design, and other administrative costs.
What does this all mean for our recipients?
They truly benefit from the services of The Equestrian Aid Foundation, a 501(c) (3) organization. If our mission sounds appealing to you, I invite you to read on to see how a small organization can effectively support such a deserving group of individuals.
We specialize in matching needy applicants in our equestrian community with resources financial or otherwise, to help them live a better quality of life in their time of need. We aren't about building a giant organization; we are about creating effective income generating fund raisers to support our recipients in the best way possible.
For example, we recently had a benefit dinner at the Amici Restaurant in Brentwood, California. Our brothers and sisters of the equestrian community and their friends and family truly supported our cause by donating space, food, wine, flowers, raffle items, auction items and in kind donations to bring in just under $50,000 in one night.
Another highlight of this year was our benefit concert in Las Vegas, featuring headliner, Ben Harper where we joined forces with the Lili Claire Foundation and raised $140,000.
Now, we need your help. There are so many people in the equestrian community who need our help. We can help them more effectively with your support.
Will you join us in our effort? Please consider a tax-deductible year-end gift of $100, $500, or more. In doing so, you will make the world a little better place to live for some very needy people. If you have any questions about our work, please do not hesitate to call me at 1-800 792-6068 and check out our Web site at www.equestrianaidfoundation.org.
Thank you in advance for your gift.
Sincerely,
Robert Dover
